His work fueled the personal computer revolution and gave rise to Silicon Valley itself. Many people think that the credit for Siliocn Valley belongs to GEN-Xers, yet here’s another surprise for you. Bill Gates (founder of Microsoft), Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak (co-founders of Apple Computers) are all Boomers. In fact, the man who is credited with inventing the internet as we know it, Tim Berners-Lee, is also a Boomer.
Some of the greatest artists whose work shaped the lives of all generations to follow are Boomers. The creator of Star Wars George Lucas, Boomer! Oprah Winfrey, Boomer! Steven Spielberg and Tom Hanks, both Boomers! Meryl Streep, Boomer! The godfather of hip-hop Russell Simmons, Boomer! Bruce Springsteen, Boomer! Prince, Boomer! A Special Note From Boomers
As fun as it is to brag about accomplishments, the truth is that we are all heavily influenced by each other, because we are all connected. We all need each other, and, we all stand on the shoulders of giants. We would be wise to stop judging and fighting and tearing each other apart. When we do, when that time comes, and it surely will, only then will we know true happiness; only then will we truly thrive.
